Episode 217: Isolation with Doug Bratton

We’re back with another interview this week! This time, Ian catches up with Doug Bratton, a creator who first met Ian back in 2006, and was even on an episode of Geekspeak back then (if you listen back, apologies for the primordial sound quality). These days, Doug is here to promote a collection of the first four issues of his mystery/horror book Isolation, which is currently available on Kickstarter. They also discuss Doug’s one-panel strip work on Pop Colture Shock Therapy, The Kubert School and taking classes with Joe Kubert himself, turning a novel idea into a comic book idea, what it takes to self-publish a comic book, and plenty more.

You can follow Doug’s work over at Instagram, and Facebook, and you can reach out to him there to get further information on where you can find Isolation after the Kickstarter has concluded. You have until Friday, June 7th at 8am ET to pledge to it!

Tons of stuff jam-packed into a half hour of content!

Comic Timing – Episode 170: Kickstarting with Jamal Igle and Shawn Pryor

EN_minneola

Like all that and a bag of tangelos, Comic Timing is back with another brand new episode! This time, Ian sits down at the computer to chat with longtime friends of the show, Jamal Igle and Shawn Pryor to discuss their latest ventures!

For Jamal, that is the Kickstarter campaign for Molly Danger: Book Two, which is now in its final week (so go ahead and pledge RIGHT NOW!). For Shawn, he has a new Kickstarter available that he has created called Cash & Carrie, which has officially past its initial goal and is now looking to hit some stretch goals.

Both of these projects are near and dear to me, so I do hope you all take the time to give them a thorough look, listen to the episode, and then donate what you can to each project. Or heck, even sharing them on Twitter, Facebook, or Tumblr helps a bunch! And speaking of Twitter, you can find jamal and Shawn on Twitter too @JAMALIGLE and @shawnrpryor.

STAN_F1This episode of the Extra Point, I am joined by Len Peralta! We discuss Len’s geek evolution throughout the years, what drove him to podcasting, how Kickstarter and crowd funding in general has grown, and a whole lot more. Thanks a bunch to Len for joining in, as this was a lot of fun! So much so that you can expect further interviews along this fashion to show up on the Extra Point in the future.

A very special episode of Comic Timing Extra Point is here! This is an interview that was conducted with the talented and well-versed artist Jim Calafiore at this year’s Comic Geek Speak Super Show. You may know Jim from such works as Exiles, Deadpool, and Black Panther over at Marvel, as well as Secret Six, Gotham Underground, Batman, and the 2008 Batgirl: Redemption Road miniseries at DC. Now, Jim is working on completing the Kickstarter funded Leaving Megalopolis with Gail Simone, as well as his currently running Kickstarter project Crooks & Nannies, which has 5 days left on its campaign. Crooks & Nannies recently met its initial funding goal, but it could still use your support. So get on that!

Further Super Show episodes are to come, including our traditional room recording and the rest of the interviews conducted throughout Super Show weekend.
