  1. I just listened to Episode 32 (the Wizard critique) and had to throw something in. You were mentioning Wizard’s tendancy to propagate the stereotype of comic geeks being freaky, basement dwelling, losers with no girlfriends. Something that really offended me at Wizard World Texas was the fact that Suicidegirls.com had a booth full of softcore porn and scantily clad girls. I’d like to know John Mayo’s thoughts on this as well. I mean, since when did we start allowing our comic conventions to be associated with porn sites?

As for the magazine, I liked most of the points that were made. I like the current format well enough, but I would love to see more creator interviews and less actor interviews. Maybe give an indie title like Wasteland the same amount of copy space as the Heroes article. Basically have more comic content. I did like the Civil War recap articles and the Countown article in the latest issue. I also find it amusing that in the price guide you can only look up the most valuable comics AND the Wizard exclusive comics and variant covers. It does seem Wizard has gotten a little too shameless over the years.

And I also miss the good old days with Spidey or Batman wearing a Wizard hat. Ah, those were the days…

Keep on ‘casting. Great show, Ian.
