Episode 215: X-Men ’97 Season 1 Review

We’re back at it, baby! A new era of the Comic Timing begins here, as we try and get things a bit more regular here. We begin as Ian, Brent, Raph, Donovan, Brandon, Kris and Jamal convene to give an in-depth and spoiler-filled review of an animated series nearly thirty years in the making, X-Men ’97! The first season as a whole is discussed here, so if you haven’t watched the show, definitely give this a watch first before checking out this episode. There’s also plenty of random and related deviations along the way, discussion on X-Men comics related to the series, the animated series going in directions we never expected it to go, The Twelve, reminding us all just how complicated sixty years of X-Men continuity truly is, The Twelve, where we may be headed in Season Two, comparisons to the Invincible animated, reminders that Jubilee was once a vampire, The Twelve, and so much more.

Comic Timing Episode 214: Sirens, Cornsweat and Trains, Oh My!

Ian and Brent got to record in person in Florida over Christmas break, and here is the glorious result. Topics include Brent’s thoughts on Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, combined conversation on The Marvels, Blue Beetle, the burial of Comixology, trains passing by, David Corensweat and James Gunn’s Superman Legacy to come, and so much more. Earmuffs as always with these, as there is the occasional off-color comment or language that comes with two friends communing in a park for a podcast. Like you do. Enjoy, and Happy 2024 all!

And there came a time when Ian finally found the opportunity to release recordings made at recent conventions. That time is indeed today! Depending on your definition of recent, that is. We then flash forward to New York Comic Con 2023, as Ian runs through his experiences at the convention, followed by convo on the floor with Donovan Morgan Grant and artist and creator extraordinaire, Mr. Jamal Igle.
