Hey guys! I am alive, I swear.

Blogged by Ian Levenstein as Uncategorized — Ian Levenstein Fri 4 Aug 2006 12:31 am

Hey folks!  Well, after a week out of town for a wedding which ended in the breakup of my grilfriend and I (still friends, no worries), and the rest of that week split between Cyclones games and sleeping, I’m almost ready to go back to work here.  I’ll be at an Ozma concert tomorrow night, so I might very well record when I get home tomorrow.  If not, then Saturday it is.  But yeah, just wanted to let everybody know I’m alive and well, and that next episode will have my review of Clerks II, and a whole lot more.

SNOOCH TO THE NOOCH!

Episode 41.5!

Blogged by Ian Levenstein as Uncategorized — Ian Levenstein Wed 19 Jul 2006 5:04 am

Well, since I’m out of town this week there won’t be a full episode this week. So instead, enjoy this quick little Episode 41.5! In it, I review my brand new Logitech 250 USB headset, and give my thoughts on an amazing movie that I finally saw, Unbreakable. Enjoy it folks, and I’ll be back with a regular epsode next week. As always, you can e-mail Geekspeak at speakgeekspeak@gmail.com, and don’t forget to vote at Podcast Alley!

Enjoy your week folks, and thanks as always for downloading!

We're back on iTunes!!!

Blogged by Ian Levenstein as Uncategorized — Ian Levenstein Tue 18 Jul 2006 12:21 am

This iTunes situation has been solved!  In doing so, there have been some changes to the feed location for Geekpseak.  I will leave the previous location up for thirty days.  Please change all feed locations to http://feeds.feedburner.com/SpeakGeekSpeak as opposed to the previous http://feeds.feedburner.com/typepad/vHDj

Also, here is a link to the new iTunes feed.  This and the new Feedburner feed are also avialable in the Links section.

I’ll be releasing a short little episode early tomorrow morning, which will be my episode for the week, as I will be out of town for a wedding until next Tuesday.  But yes, back on iTunes.  Yay!

Episode 41 is here!

Bear driving car? How can this be??!?!?!

Yup, Episode 41 of Geekspeak has finally arrived, with plenty of flavor and variety thrown in there for all! Also a quick reminder that there still appear to be issues involving iTunes as of now. I’ve contacted them, so hopefullt things will get resolved in the next week or so. Hopefully. And for those using Juice to download episodes, Feedburner is currently having issues with Juice, so you may have to sit tight on that front too for a little while at least and download the episode directly from the web site. When it rains it pours, you know?

Anyway, here’s what we have for you on today’s episode:

I hope you guys enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed this episode, as I felt like I was in the zone for this one. Plenty of sillyness, and some not so silly too. As always, you can e-mail me over at speakgeekspeak@gmail.com, and don’t forget to vote for Geekspeak on Podcast Alley!

Other than that, that’s pretty much all I can think of saying. Thanks again to everybody for sticking with us even through these tech glitches and delays, and thanks as always for downloading!

Update 4: I'm in contact with iTunes!

Blogged by Ian Levenstein as Uncategorized — Ian Levenstein Sun 9 Jul 2006 11:58 pm

Well, here’s the current deal: I just contated iTunes support to let them know about the situation so that hopefully they can help me out here. As for Episode 41, I’m going to hold off on that a bit longer to see whether or not I can get this thing fixed in the next few days. I’m really bummed about this, and that’s actually putting me in the complete opposite mood of wanting to edit and record here. I tried doing some of 41 a few minutes, and it sounded flat and unenergetic, and I don’t want you guys to get a subpar product out there. If it’s not fixed by Tuesday, I’ll be releasing 41 anyway. As a just in case, please add the following manually to your iTunes feed by going to the Advanced tab, then Subscribe to Podcast and input http://feeds.feedburner.com/typepad/vHDj.

Again, I’m really sorry to keep delaying things like this. I just want my head to be in the game,a nd at the moment…well, it’s somewhere else entirely. I might try for 2 eps this week to make up for this whole shebang, but we shall see.

Update #2:

Blogged by Ian Levenstein as Uncategorized — Ian Levenstein Sat 8 Jul 2006 9:28 pm

Well, I’ve been dealing with iTunes feed problems all day long, and therefore have not recorded Episode 41 yet.  I have no clue what’s wrong with the feed, but apparently I’m not the only one who’s been having issues.  In another hour or so I’ll record, and I should hopefully have it out by later tonight.  If not, I’ll work on it when I get home from visiting relatives tomorrow.

Sorry about this folks.  This was kinda hard to avoid, and is also a giant pain in the butt.

Geekspeak is back! (repost)

Blogged by Ian Levenstein as Uncategorized — Ian Levenstein Sat 8 Jul 2006 3:04 am

I believe I’m havign trouble with the iTunes feed, so as a just in case I’m reposting this:

Ahhhhh, it feels good to be back in the saddle again. After a long two week absence, Geekspeak has returned! And not only has it returned, but today marks a milestone: Episode 40! To celebrate, I decided it was time for Showcase Spotlight #6, this time focusing upon one of the things I went to during my two week hiatus: Anime Conventions! To discuss this particular section of geekdom, I called upon Rym and Scott of the GeekNights Podcast for their insight both on Anime Next, and Anime Conventions as a whole. In the episode, we discuss:

  • Anime Next 2006: The Good, the Bad, and the in Between
  • What Anime Conventions Need to Improve
  • The benefits of a good Dealer’s Room
  • The menace that is…FANBOY FUNK!
  • How to keep the overzealous fan under control the easy way, and the hard way.
  • Game Room Etiquette, and a Duck Hunt Tournament. Can I shoot the dog this time?
  • The merits of cosplay, and some of our favorite cosplays.
  • Panels: What it’s like running them, and which ones usually manage to gain our interest.
  • Masquerade: Should they tape it and show the good parts at Closing Ceremonies?

We also got into plenty of other tangents, including interesting con memories and stories, and a whole lot more. It was a lot of fun having Rym and Scott on, and definetely make sure to check out GeekNights if you have not, as it is quite the good times. Hope to hear from these two again sometime soon!
As for you listeners, you can drop me an e-mail over at speakgeekspeak@gmail.com, and don’t forget to vote for Geekspeak over at Podcast Alley! Along with that, make sure to hop on over to Fargate Productions when you get a chance, as the guys who run the site are a barrel of laughs, and so is the site!

That’s really all I have to say for this week. Until next time, thanks for sticking with me for 40 episodes of Geekspeak, and here’s hoping you all stick around for at least 40 more!

Update:

I’ll be recording Episode 41 tomorrow, so it should hopefully be up and available by later that night.  Apologies to all for the sporadic release dates, as the summer has been a busy one so far.  Although I will be seeing Pirates of the Caribbean 2 tonight, so expect a review of that and Superman Returns, plus plenty of news stories to go over tomorrow!
